Join the Smithsonian American Women's History Museum for a Jovita Idar Family Day in San Antonio!
The National Museum of the American Latino will join us, along with the Mexican American Civil Rights Institute, to honor and celebrate the life of Jovita Idar, a journalist, teacher, and activist whose likeness can now be found on U.S. quarters as part of the American Women Quarters™ program.
Enjoy coloring and activity stations, hear the debut of a Jovita Idar corrido by Gino Rivera, and witness the debut of the Guadalupe Dance Company's original choreography interpreting Jovita's life, accompanied by Mariachi Azteca de America.
