Celebrate the love of reading with local Latino authors and the National Museum of the American Latino at the museum's first Día del Niño: A Celebration of Children’s Storytime and Literacy.

10:30am- 11:30am: Cyd Marie Miranda Negrón reads “Raigón Puertorriqueño: La diáspora puertorriqueña introducida para niños”

Cyd Marie Miranda Negrón started her career at the age of 29 as the author of a children's book, with the intention of telling the history of Puerto Rico in a simple and striking way. “Raigón Puertorriqueño: La diáspora puertorriqueña introducida para niños” is a heartwarming Spanish rhyme children's book. In the story, siblings Mila and Andrés learn about their grandfather's life when he lived in the United States, what it means to be Puerto Rican and, more importantly, they learn about the roots that lead every Puerto Rican to love their country wherever they are.

The event will be held in the General Motors Learning Lounge of the Molina Family Latino Gallery at the National Museum of American History. Registered attendees will receive a free signed copy of a book while supplies last. Registration is required through Eventbrite.

Space in the GM Learning Lounge is limited. If a registrant does not check in within 10 minutes of the program start time, the seat(s) will be given to people in the waiting line.

By signing up for this program you will be signed up to receive the museum's email newsletter and other updates. You can opt-out at any time.

ASL interpretation will be provided.
