Adriana Camacho-Church reads “Grandma’s Hair is Ankle Length / El Cabello de Abuela le llega hasta los tobillos”

Adriana Camacho-Church books are based on memories she has of her grandmother, who helped raise her and her siblings in Colombia. After Adriana and her immediate family moved to the United States, she never saw her grandmother again but never forgot her strong and compassionate character. Adriana grew up in Chicago and Los Angeles where she learned to integrate two cultures and languages.

In “Grandma’s Hair is Ankle Length / El Cabello de Abuela le llega hasta los tobillos,” a bilingual picture book, a young girl treasures her grandmother’s ankle-length hair and the love, security, and wisdom of the ages it represents. This book is recommended for visitors ages 5-8 years.

This story time will be held in the General Motors Learning Lounge at the National Museum of American History. Attendees will receive a copy of a book while supplies last.

This event operates on a first-come, first-served basis, and early attendance is encouraged to secure your participation. ASL Interpretation will be provided. For questions, please email NMALeducation@si.edu.

This event will also be streamed live on Facebook via: https://www.facebook.com/USLatinoMuseum.
